Broken Reefs

Sail out, fight something with teeth, get rich, limp home.

What is Broken Reefs

Broken Reefs is a turn-based naval combat game that runs entirely in a browser tab. There is no download, no launcher, and no account to abandon later — open the page and you are already at sea.

Every fight is a choice between five actions at one of two ranges, far or close. No reflexes, only consequences: what happens next comes from a roll, not from your clicking speed.

A career persists between voyages — gold, hull, the ship itself, three upgrade tracks and whatever trophies you have earned — for as long as this browser remembers a session id. Nothing is exported, and nothing has to be.

No reflexes, only consequences

Range is two states and five choices — Fire Cannons, Ram, Maneuver, Brace, Flee. Every fight resolves on what you chose, not on how fast you clicked.

The ship outlives the voyage

Gold, hull and the ship itself carry over between sails — and a sinking takes the ship, not the career. You wake in port and go again.

7 things live out there

7 creatures, each fighting differently — a shark that wants you close, a spitter that wants you far, a kraken that grabs at close range for nearly double. Know one before you meet it.

Port, zone, sail, fight, go home

Repair and upgrade in port, pick a zone, sail into it, and push deeper or turn back — the loop is that short and repeats as long as you want it to.

Questions

Can I lose everything?

No. Sinking costs you 35% of your gold and the ship you were in — you wake in port on a bare sloop and start again. The ledger stays open.

Is my progress saved somewhere I can find it again?

No. Your career is remembered by this browser and nothing else — clear its storage and you start over. There is nothing to sign up for.

How long is a voyage?

A sail is one decision and one roll. A career is as long as you keep coming home.

Do I need an account?

No account, no download, no launcher. Free, in your browser.

What do I actually fight?

7 things live out there and each of them fights differently — from a shark that wants you at close range to a leviathan that gets meaner the closer it is to dying. The Bestiary covers all 7.

Can I just leave a fight I am losing?

Fleeing costs a parting blow on the way out, and it can still sink you. The sea between you and port is real, too — the Abyss is 2 legs home, the Reef 1. Leaving is priced, not free.

Free, in your browser. No download, no launcher, no account to abandon later.
